Madinatul Quds & Madinatul Zahraa Communities

Citizens of the World

Elementary students build knowledge through an in-depth study of the world and how it works. Their studies are integrated across disciplines, including Qur’an, Islamic studies, geography, biology, history, language, mathematics, geometry, science, art, and practical life. To deepen their understanding, students organize visits beyond the classroom to gain real-world knowledge from community resources such as libraries, planetariums, botanical gardens, science centers, factories, hospitals, and more. This hands-on approach fosters a sense of connectedness to humanity and nurtures children’s natural desire to contribute meaningfully to the world.

Elementary is also a time for children to develop their sense of justice, practice the deen of Allah, learn to read the Qur’an, and work together as a community. They cultivate care and respect for one another and for the environment.

Through their research and studies, along with their growing sense of purpose within the classroom community, they become connected to the world and empowered to be agents of positive change in society.
